All right, so I know what most of you are thinking by now. Either Britt is some sixty-year-old cat lady who doesn’t know how to use the interwebz, or she is a figment of Kate’s imagination, her imaginary alter-ego/bestie/co-author in crime. Well fear not, because……
Here’s my story. Kate and I have been working non-stop for months! Editing, editing, editing, getting everything ready for publication, so on and so forth. And holy crap, it’s a lot of work! I had a trip to Vegas planned, and we used that as our deadline to get our ducks in a row. We met that deadline by the hairs of our chins, so when I hopped on that jet plane, I had no regrets about leaving my laptop and iPad at home. Vegas baby!
Besides…who wants to pay that outrageous daily internet fee when you’re in Sin City?
Not this girl.
So Vegas was a blast! I walked until my feet were blistered, partied on Fremont Street, went to see a beautiful Cirque du Soleil show, and only managed to lose $10 in the slots! Woot! It was a much needed getaway, but the second I got home, I was ready to work, work, work! And then…bam. I got sick. As in…ohhh, you mean you have tons of work to do in order to be ready to meet your publication date? Well, how about instead I give you bronchial pneumonia!
Thanks, universe. -_-
To say that this week has been hell would be an understatement. After a few days of hallucinating due to a crazy spiked fever, not getting out of bed, and literally crying for my mommy (no really guys, I called my mommy crying and she had to come take care of me like I was some kind of gigantic toddler), I’m finally on the mend!
Bite me, pneumonia!
I’m not out of the woods yet, and I sound like I have a serious case of COPD going down, but I now have the strength to type, and form sentences that are somewhat coherent. I’ll definitely take it. With eight days until OMG OMG our release date, I just wanted to reassure you all that the other part of this writing duo is not mute, and you’ll be seeing a lot more of me around these parts! I’ll be the first to admit my blogging skills are lacking, but I promise to do my best to keep you entertained and titillated. (heh.)
Thanks to everyone who extended their well wishes and concern, it means so much to me. I’ll see you next time where I will be musing about what it’s like to hold your brand new bundle of joy, your very own paperback, in your hands for the first time. Believe me, it’s an experience you’ll never forget.
For now, I have a hot date with some Nyquil and Vicks VapoRub!
